Intense Art Magazine (I AM) boasts to be the first bilingual paper magazine dedicated to Art, Women and Africa. It is an artististic platform that aims to celebrate women in the field of visual arts, fashion, design and architecture in Africa.
The Amsterdam based magazine also supported by wax fabric manufacturers Vlisco had a London launch on Friday 17th October at the Somerset House to celebrate the premier edition which pays homage to the West Central country of Cameroon; the native country of Angèle Essamba, one of the founders of the magazine.
The invite only launch was attended by individuals from the London African fashion and arty scene and ofcourse we were there to celebrate and appreciate the work of our Cameroon sister Angèle Etoundi Essamba and her co-founders and to thank them for thinking of putting Cameroon on the map.
We also had some time to appreciate the artistic talents of Somerset House’s 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair which takes its name from the 54 countries of the continent and which ran daily from 16th to 19th October to promote African and Africa related art practices and projects, exploring new perspectives and voices. As Cameroon art talents were also featured, as usual we had to support 😉 Our images below…

We had a fun filled creatively zen Friday morning last week! And you, what did you do?
