So we are already hooked on Marsala, Pantone’s burgundy-brown-hued colour of 2015. But which other colours will you want to be wearing this year through — perhaps most importantly on your nails? On our first beauty post of the year and through monthly beauty box company Birchbox, here are the predictions for the polish shades that everyone will be obsessed with…

Pantone’s First Pick

In case you missed it, Pantone’s Colour of the Year is Marsala, a wine-inspired maroon that reminds us of the ‘90s—in a good way. Grab the colour for your nails (and lips) with LAQA & Co.’s Fat Lip Pencil + Nail Polish in Siren Song.

Watercolor Blues

From a bright cerulean to a classic cobalt, the spring runways suggested this calming shade will be everywhere come spring. A couple coats of Color Club’s Take Me To Your Chateau or Ruffian’s Blue Lagoon will transport you seaside. If you’re looking for something bolder, try the Yves Klein blue of alessandro’s Blue Lagoon.

Moody Greys

Moody Greys

Designers like Dennis Basso incorporated greys into their Spring 2015 collections, ranging from a light slate to a darker, gun-metal iteration. Get the softer version with RGB Nail Polish in Steel or opt for Color Club’s Dark and Stormy, a metallic charcoal.

Sandy Browns

If you like to keep things neutral, switch up your nude in the New Year with a slightly tanner hue. RGB’s Toast is a creamy mocha that conveniently pairs well with a Marsala lip. And Ruffian’s Sahara is a shimmery sandstone seen on the runway from design Misha Nonoo that we can’t wait to pair with a summertime glow.

Girly Pastels

Girly Pastels

Yes, predicting pastels for spring is pretty predictable. Skip bubblegum pink in 2015 for a Rebecca Minkoff-inspired muted hue like Deborah Lippmann’s aptly-named Pretty Young Thing. If lavender is more your thing, try alessandro’s Steel Magnolia, a close match to one of Pantone’s other 2015 selections, Lavender Herb.

Citrus-y Brights

Citrusy Brights

After we spotted fruity oranges and yellows in Nicole Miller’s tropical designs for spring, we immediately wanted to paint the shades on our nails. Deborah Lippmann’s Lara’s Theme is a juicy tangerine shade, and Floss Gloss’s Limon has a lime-infused punch.

So which of these listed would you be wearing this year?! Go on…tell us!!
